Product Description

Dublin Drag's latest album, "One Minute To Midnight 1912," is a riotous ode to the bizarre time warp that is turn-of-the-century Dublin. From the opening track, "Whiskey in the Parlour," to the closing ballad, "Lament for a Time Lost," this album pulls no punches in its exploration of the city's seedy underbelly. Frontman Seamus O'Sullivan's gravelly vocals are the perfect complement to the band's raucous blend of folk, punk, and traditional Irish music. The result is a sound that is both nostalgic and refreshingly modern. Standout tracks like "The Ballad of Molly Malone" and "Dublin's Burning" showcase Dublin Drag's knack for catchy hooks and infectious energy. But it's not just the music that makes "One Minute To Midnight 1912" a standout album. The lyrics are a masterclass in storytelling, painting vivid pictures of a bygone era filled with shady characters and illicit activities. The band's irreverent sense of humour shines through on tracks like "The Piss-Up at the Pigeon House" and "The Ballad of Big Jimmy O'Toole." Overall, Dublin Drag have crafted a truly unique and entertaining album that will transport you back in time while keeping you laughing and tapping your feet. "One Minute To Midnight 1912" is a must-listen for anyone who appreciates good music and a good story. Sláinte!
